Where to Play
Whidbey Island Pickleball members play at a variety of locations on South Whidbey. For drop in play, try any of the outdoor courts. If indoor pickleball is what you are looking for, drop in to a scheduled session at the SW Community Center courts.

(1) Community Center Gym for Indoor Play
Located behind the Community Center by The Backyard and Island Crossfit, there are three lined courts in the lower gym.
Pickleball is offered all year at this location, through South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District (SWPRD). All are welcome to join the sessions which include several for novices and new players, intermediate levels, as well as sessions open to all skill levels. Drop in for $6 per session or register for the month at SW Parks and Rec.
(2) Sports Complex for Outdoor Play
There are four lined courts located straight ahead when you drive in the park.
These outdoor courts are open all year, and there is no fee to play. Bring your own net or pick up one from the (3) South Whidbey Parks and Recreation office at 5475 Maxwelton, Langley.
Whidbey Island Pickleball schedules group play at these courts during the summer, but do not have an entitlement to this public space.
(4) SW School Building for Covered Outdoor Play
There are two lined courts in a covered play area on the left side of the building. Bring your own net or borrow one from the SW Parks and Rec office at 5495 Maxwelton, Langley.
They can be an option for those looking for a covered place to play — HOWEVER, they can become extremely slippery without warning. There are no lights, so it is not usable after dusk. Please note that players have no entitlement to school-owned space, and this public space can only be used during non-work hours.
(5) SW Middle & High School for Outdoor Play
There are two lined tennis/pickleball courts to the right of the school near the track.
They can be option for those looking for a place to play. Please note that players have no entitlement to school-owned property, and this public space can only be used during non-school hours. Availability also depends on school activities.

(2) Dedicated Pickleball for Outdoor Play
There is an initiative by South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District (SWPRD) to build dedicated outdoor pickleball courts on South Whidbey at the Sports Complex. SWPRD has received two state grants for this purpose, and additionally, Whidbey Island Pickleball members and supporters pledged over $50,000 for this purpose. Watch this space for additional updates!
